Rosh Chodesh Adar Beis

In honour of Rosh Chodesh Adar, Yaffush Barkan, a celebrated Israeli singer, gave a concert for our school. It wasn't just a concert though. From the very first song, the girls were out of their chairs, singing and dancing together. Girls from Year 7 held hands with girls in Yr 13, as they whirled around the hall to the beat of Yaffush's marvelous voice.  Yaffush would segue from popular, beaty hits to the sit-down kumzitz style classics and niggunim. One minute everyone would be swaying to "Rebbe, Oh, Rebbe" and the next minute trying to outperform Beis Rivka Crown Heights with Ishay Ribo's "Sibat HaSibot."

It was a spectacular  event, enjoyed by both pupils and staff , one likely to be remembered years on. The students of LSGS would like to extend their gratitude to Rabbi Lew for sponsoring the event.
