Vision and ethos of the History Department

The History Department at LSGS aims to provide our students with a rich, broad and balanced curriculum to inspire their curiosity about Britain’s past and that of the wider world. To this end, and in compliance with the new Ofsted education inspection framework from September 2019, our curriculum is designed to engage students through independent learning, critical and reflective thinking to extend their historical knowledge and understanding. Our students explore the diversity of human lives, of societies and the relationships between different groups within Britain and across the world. This is fully achieved within the Chabad Chassidism ethos of the school and in support of Middos education, which all ensure a firm commitment to promoting fundamental British values (FBVs).
